In case you don’t know who Michael Dunlop is he’s considered one of the youngest superstars in the world of internet marketing. He runs a number of successful blogs and makes a seriously killing online. If you were to look at the design of the templates you would think you would need a PH.D in photoshop, but that just isn’t the case. So I’m going to give you a short walkthrough so you can see for yourself how easy Popup Domination 2.0 is to setup. Plus, this will give you an exclusive inside look at some of the new features of Popup Domination 2.0 which were talk more about later.
Selecting Your Design
The first thing you’ll have to do once you install this plug-in is to select your template and customize your design. This is actually the hardest part because you have SO MANY OPTIONS to choose from. Popup Domination only came with a few templates, but the updated version has a few more goodies added. In addition you have a number of professionally designed templates, color options and over 14 different color themes to choose from. This means you can really customize the hell out of Popup Domination 2.0 and make it match to pretty much any site design you have going on. powerful plugin no matter what service your using. Popup Domination 2.0 supports Aweber, IContact, GetResponse and MailChimp. So you don’t have to worry if you don’t have Aweber setup because this plugin will work with any of the providers mentioned.
You don’t have to have any computer skills to set this part up. All you do is login to your autoresponder service, grab your optin form HTML code into the space provided and that’s it! Popup Domination 2.0 will recongize your provider and plugin all the info you need for the plugin to work. You can even choose if you want to use a name and e-mail field or just one of the others by themselves. Popup Domination 2.0 makes it so easy to set everything up.
Edit Your Popup Domination 2.0 Headline, Offer & Bullet Points
Now once you set all of this up your going want to figure out what you want your lightbox to say and if you use an image such as a ebook cover or whatever what image you want to use. Below is a screenshot on how I have mine setup at the moment:
After you fill in this information you’ll be asked to create some bullet points and a few other pieces of information. Another nice feature of Popup Domination 2.0 is that it will tell you if you have too many bullet points or if your paragraph is too long. Some of the templates are only designed to have so many characters and such and so you don’t have too keep testing what looks good and what screws up the template Popup Domination 2.0 handles this for you.
Popup Domination 2.0 Lets You Show Your LightBox When You Want!
Now, one of the biggest problems people have with lightboxes is that can be annoying to a visitor when not used correctly. Yes, they are proven to increase conversion, but they can also piss off your current readers. Well, you won’t have to worry about that part any more. Popup Domination 2.0 let’s let you choose how many seconds it’ll take for your lightbox to popup and you can also set it on a scehdule so it will only show on certain days.
Popup Domination version 1 didn’t have a lot of customization in this area, but Popup Domination 2.0 has gone overboard and allows you to really dive deep down into your settings and customize the hell out of how popup domination shows up, when, how long, to what visitors and a number of other features.
Mod Popup Domination 2.0 All You Want!
Obviously Popup Domination 2.0 has taken care of all the hard work for us, but if your one of those people who like to customize the hell out of things and take things to the next level Michael included a advanced section which allows you to customize the CSS and PHP files. You can mod the plugin and change it to your will. Beatey and flexiable is always a nice comibation.
What’s New In Popup Domination 2.0
As I mentioned this is the newest version of Popup Domination called Popup Domination 2.0. Michael promised us that the upgrade would be even better and have even more features than the first one. - Standalone version – This may be one of the most drastic changes to Popup Domination. As I mentioned in this review Popup Domination is a WordPress plug-in. Well, Michael and his team have created a completely seperate standalone version which doesn’t require WordPress. So now you enjoy the benefits of this awesome software even if you don’t have WordPress. This one factor alone changes everything and now opens up websites of all types to use this powerful list building tool.
- 3 New Brand New Templates – Michael made a promise to his customer that with every new release he was going to try and have his team create new templates for Popup Domination 2.0. So now you have even more options to choose from and even more ways to customize your Lightbox. I recommend you try different ones and see which one gets you the best results.
- Exit Popup – The beta version I’m using right now doesn’t have this feature yet, but this is another BIG add-on. You may not have been able to get them when they came to your page, but you may be able to convert them when they are leaving. This gives you a second chance to gain a new subscriber. I’m really looking to this enhancement.
- Page Selection -I don’t have a lot of knowledge on this new add-on, but my best guess would be that this feature allows you to choose which pages your opt-in box appears on. If so, this would allow you to really customize your site and test different pages and etc. This gives you even more control of your business and that’s never a bad thing.
- Impression Counter-This one pretty much speaks for itself and while I may not use this one I know a lot of people that enjoy the use of Counters. Still a feature a lot of people wanted and as always Michael Dunlop over delivers.
These are the new features of Popup Domination 2.0 and they are a great start to the first update of this awesome tool. It appears that the goal of this update was to give the user more control over how they display their lightbox and if that truly is the case than Michael has done a great job.
